Helping Hands

Bonded by the bond of humanity, all human beings are one big family. Every problem is every man’s problem and the first step to solving problems is to identify them as our own. Realizing this fact, we must shed the sense of individualism we have in ourselves. We must start thinking about others. We must start owning hearts as big as our wallets and we must take the initiative of reaching out to help our brothers and sisters in need.

Lending a helping hand to someone is one of the easiest things we can do in life that can not only make a difference but will also have a rippling effect. As long as we remain true to ourselves, a small act of kindness can change someone’s life; it can inspire someone to pass it on to someone less fortunate than them. It can only multiply and multiply around. Generosity gives a sense of direction and purpose to our lives, and through all of it, we get to experience the ultimate form of happiness.

To start with, we can help others by separating a small share of our salaries every month and giving it to someone who needs it more than us. Lending a helping hand, though, doesn’t necessarily have to be through monetary means. It is as easy as donating things we don’t use anymore. It is as undemanding as giving food to people who don’t have it. And it is as simple as comforting someone with your words.
