Why Taylor Swift is a Good Role Model
Well, here is the debate. Why I see Taylor Swift as a role model for all the young girls around the world. The answer is obvious. Taylor Swift has made herself happier than any boy ever could and if you cannot see how important that is, and how it makes her a fantastic role model, I don’t think so anybody can understand.
Young girls go through the stages of crushing on their schoolmates, celebrities, college mates and even falling in love with typical ‘bad boys’ thanks to the romantic novels, which always emphasizes more on the boy than girl. Usually we will find that the hero, in contrast, is described in immense detail. The color of his eyes, his height, his desirable athletic body, his clothing choices (which he always looks good in, according to the heroine), his confidence and masculinity, the way he moves his face, his voice…it’s all there, laid out so that the reader can see this man in her mind. So, these books tell us that women most want a certain type of man – an attractive one. Science and common sense has been telling us that already, so nothing new there. It creates delusional desires in women’s head and they end up hurting themselves while looking for their desirable guy.
Lets come back on Taylor Swift. Apart from a great singer and songwriter, She is a perfect example of a feminist, humanitarian, down to earth celebrity and a strong woman. She recently won International Female Icon at Brit Awards 15 and Award for Excellence at American Music Awards. She also holds the prestigious Grammy Award for her album Fearless. n 2013, she became the second person (and first woman) to receive the Country Music Association’s Pinnacle Award.
Apart from that, She has numerous American Music Awards, Disney Awards, Kids Choice Award, Country Music Awards and the list goes on. Apart from Twitter, Taylor has her own tumblr account where she constantly stays in touch with her fans. Taylor definitely as heart of gold, She recently did send a check of $1989 to one her fan so that she could pay off her student’s loan. She donated $50, 000 to all the New York Public School. Taylor Swift not only uses her music to inspire other people, it also inspires herself. While growing up, Taylor was picked on throughout her middle school years. She would write songs to help relive her stress. While writing her songs she found that music made her feel better. As she grew older she would write songs about anything that was stressful or that inspired her. Even the boys too! She has been criticized a lot for using boys as a medium to make fortune but media biasness was exposed when Sam Smith was hail as a hero for saying thank you to the person who did break his heard on winning a Grammy whereas, Taylor was seen as an overly emotional, unstable lady. She has our own classy group of female friends including Karlie Kloss, Lorde, Emma Stone, Lena Dunham and Jamie King. Even the legendary singer, Madonna could not resist to support her, she said, She has an opinion, and she’s going against the norm,” And also, people just want to give her a hard time all the time because they think she’s a goody-two-shoes, so of course I want to embrace her. Her quotes and lyrics are truly inspiring, “There are two ways you can go with pain: You can let it destroy you or you can use it as fuel to drive you… ” And ‘’If you are lucky enough to be different, don’t ever change that.’’
