The Foundation Public School, A-level, hosted its second Feb-Fest on the 18th of February at the Elementary Campus. Undoubtedly, it was a huge success. For those who are unaware of what it actually is, Feb Fest is one of the biggest inter-school bands concerts held in Karachi. It is not a competition but merely promotion and encouragement of those young musicians who might one day hit the mainstream music industry.
The night was all about bling. The use of smoke from the fog machine along with stage lights helped set the stage, keeping in mind every minute detail, which made it look professional and memorable.
The extended winters seemed like a blessing on that vibrant night; full of music and energetic youngsters. The crowd included a large number of students from the FPS A-Level campus and from other colleges.
Music of different genres was played by the bands, and everyone found something that they enjoyed. Mr. Khurram hosted the event and made it very entertaining; cracking jokes throughout and keeping the crowd screaming at the top of their lungs.
The night started off with FPS’s own band, Maiden Rain playing “Astronomia”, followed by the Alumni band and bands from other schools. A highlight of the event was when Agha Ahad sang Atif Aslam’s “Pehli nazar main” for his ‘supposed’ valentine. The Quizas or the Kausars (as they were referred to) were a phenomenal hit with their mash-up that everyone enjoyed immensely. Jamal singing “Sexy and I know it” with his dance moves also made it to the hit list that night.
The night was not even a disappointment for the food lovers, as there were stalls with hot and cold beverages and different cuisines ranging from the Arab shawarma to pizzas and French fries. Everyone found something to eat.
The students at Foundation A-Levels are extremely grateful to Ms. Ronila Singh for allowing us host our event at Elementary campus. Saturday night ended up on a great note. It indeed had been a good opportunity for the musicians not only to have a setup for their performances but also learn from each other and polish their own skills.
