Karachi’s cuisine scene has literally exploded in the last few years with dozens of new cafes that have sprung up all around the city. The wide array of delicious fare ranges from the traditional mouthwatering and spiced Pakistani dishes to Italian and Thai.

This correspondent recently visited Rowtisserie, and decided to share her unique experience with the Youth Correspondent (YC) Universe.

Located in Khayaban-e-Shamsheer, the interior of this café makes one feel transported to a vessel overseas, with its small but cozy seating arrangement. Rowtisserie’s menu is immaculately designed with simplicity and minimalism in mind.

Each dish offered by the brand has its own distinctive taste and burst of flavour. While the menu is not diverse, it comprises of dishes that hold bags of flavour which are both healthier and tastier than other eating outlets.

The food is served in beautifully presented platters, and includes juicy shawarmas, sandwiches, roasted chicken and a variety of side lines.

If you haven’t already been here, this correspondent would highly recommend a trip to try Rowtisserie’s mezze platter, row wings, curly fries and for the main course its grilled chicken! If you’re into dips, their row sauce is to die for!

For those wanting to keep the menu light, both their Mediterranean salad and roasted garlic and tomato soup are must haves, while your sweet tooth would definitely feel blessed should you try their  double chocolate tart.

The café also makes for a great breakfast outlet.

All in all, a decent feasting comprising of a main course, side line and a soft drink can easily be undertaken in a meagre Rs 700 – which is unbelievably economical!

However, this correspondent feels it incumbent upon her to apprise the readers of the spike in cost which would surely result should you order one of their delicious but overpriced dessert items.

The customer service at Rowtisserie deserves a special mention, with the way the staff listens to customer complaints and promptly ensures compensation should anything be  out of sorts. They focus on customer satisfaction, politely acknowledging feedback and courteously treating the customers no matter what mood the client is in.

This correspondent rates her experience at Rowtisserie thus:  Food – 4/5, Ambiance – 3/5, Customer service – 3.5/5

Do try it out! You don’t know what you’re missing.
