HTC delves in the world of Windows – HTC 8X

There has been a great swerve in mobile companies adopting Microsoft Windows as the operating system. Firstly, Nokia struck a partnership with the IT heavyweight and now, HTC has also joined in. I introduce to you a phone that is quite different from its fellow HTC compatriots as the company leaves no stones unturned when it comes to leading innovation!

The first notable diverse feature of 8X as compared to other HTC handsets is its new design. Sleek and iconic, the company has literally started right from scratch to build this smart phone and provide its users a compelling experience coupled with the advent of Windows. It also comprises a 4.3” Super LCD 2 touch screen that has a 1280×720 resolution which is supposed to give a more realistic experience even though it is slightly less impressive than an AMOLED display.

Coming to the processor, it comes in with a 1.5 GHz, Dual-core Qualcomm® S4 processor with a total RAM of 1GB and a maximum storage capacity of 16GB (No micro SD card slot). Moreover, it has a 1800mAh battery and also notably includes NFC and 4G LTE amongst others. It weighs around 4.58 oz, which is pretty spectacular considering the vast amount of features that have been incorporated into it.

From the photographic point of view, it includes a world-class 8 MP camera, with 3264 x 2448 pixels, autofocus and LED flash. There is also a front 2.1 MP camera which is also quite handful for personal portraits. Both of them have been specifically designed with a new ultra-wide-angle technology, enabling the user to take sharp crisp shots even in low-light conditions. Furthermore, it is equipped with 1080p HD video recording to capture the perfect clips that you will ever see!

Beats Audio enhance the sound experience immensely, providing you with the most ultimate musical ride. Elsewhere, a bunch of applications are also present to ensure that people are able to use the phone as comfortably as possible. These various applications include the Live Tiles, News Client, Connection Setup etc.

However, there are some flaws that just can’t be neglected. The major shortcoming is the acute lack of applications on Windows OS as compared to the other competing phones that are out there. Also, the storage capacity is pretty low since most of the smart phones these days come in with 32GB or 64GB forms.

To conclude, I would like to recommend the HTC 8X to anyone who is looking forward to getting acquainted with the Windows Phone 8 OS. It is quite a magnificent device with its innovative design and spectacular audio experience. So if you are currently on the lookout for a slightly different experience, then the HTC 8X is the phone for you!
