The Group Of Death Awaits The Blue Moon

The Blue Moon had risen in May, when Manchester City won the Premier League. Every City fan thought that their glory days were  finally upon them but the recent Champions League draw is making them think twice that whether they will reach their dream land like they did, a couple of months ago.
Manchester City is placed in Group D, also known as the “Group of Death”. City will play against Real Madrid (Spain), Ajax Amsterdam (Netherlands) and Borussia Dortmund (Germany) for a place in the Top 16. All of these teams were the League winners in the previous season. Cristiano Ronaldo, the Madrid mid-fielder, has already suggested that Group D will be the toughest and are ready to face anyone in their path.
The social media sites such as Facebook and twitter were spammed with jokes, memes and articles by fans of other teams such as Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool. Some fans have already claimed that City will not even make it into the next round.
On the other side, Manchester United fans have a sigh of relief and are full confident that their team will put an amazing show this season. Manchester United, are placed in Group H with Braga (Portugal), Galatasaray (Turkey) and CFR Cluj (Romania). The Red Devils are keen to silence their critics who doubted United’s ability after their humiliating 6-1 loss to City at Old Trafford last October. I, as a United fan, believe that United will make it to the Semi Finals due to the high-profile signings done by Alex Ferguson and they should have no problem with the teams currently placed in their group. United fans had a real laugh when they came to know about the competition which their derby rivals have to face.
As a concluding remark, I have to say that Manchester City will really have to work hard if they are to reach the next round as playing Madrid, Dortmund and Ajax is not a walk in the park. Their derby rivals, Manchester United will easily go through to the round of 16, as the competition will not be a tough one for them in the initial stages.
