After all the Sony fans have experienced the never-ending rampant rumors, Sony finally released its latest engineering marvel! The new Sony Xperia S. It is also the first Sony only branded Smartphone.  And mind you, it was worth the wait. Full of exhilarating features that would get your fingers tapping straight away, you will surely fall in love with it.

Sony Xperia S comes in with a Reality Display which includes a 4.3-inch (342 ppi) screen. Equipped with full High-Definition (HD) display, get ready to see the world around you in HD! Also for all the game lovers out there, it is a Playstation Certified Smartphone, experience the thrill of gaming with its fantastic display. It sports a more rectangular design which, I believe has been done to bring it in tandem with its 128 mm tall and 64 mm wide structure. It’s currently available in stunning black and white colors.

Sony Xperia S

It is powered by a 1.5 GHz Dual core processor. Thanks to a recent update, its previous Android v2.3 (Gingerbread) can be updated to the new Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0. Its storage capacity includes a 32GB of internal storage and runs on 1GB RAM. It also includes Google’s new feature Android Beam, which allows you to send files to compatible phones by just bumping them together.

When it comes to having a quality smartphone camera, Xperia S ticks all the boxes. Sporting an impressive 12-megapixel camera with LED flash, it captures some eye-catching images. Moreover, it makes high quality videos in 1080p. It also includes a 1.3- megapixel front camera along with features like image stabilization and 3D sweep panorama. Exciting new applications have also been added like Gracenote, Timescape, Neoreader etc. thus, further enhancing it’s already burgeoning reputation.

Also, it possesses a wide range of entertainment content. Sony Music Unlimited and Sony Video Unlimited shine at the fore-front in this regard. They allow you to rent and buy movies and TV shows, download the latest music etc. but it is required that you register yourself by making an account on Sony Entertainment Network.  Furthermore, Sony provides a wide range of music and movies that would be sufficient enough to meet all your entertainment needs. The Sony Music Unlimited also provides an on-demand instant playback of any track provided you are enrolled on a premium subscription.

Still, there are some flaws that should be noted upon. Its strange capacitive buttons make it a bit difficult to use its countless applications. And when compared to the recently launched smartphones by other companies, the display screen just misses a notch. Moreover, it possesses a sluggish 3G data processing, making navigation a not-so-delightful affair. Its hefty price has also been termed as being too much when compared to its closest competitors.

But that should not, in any way take away the fact that this phone is absolutely fantastic. Its futuristic design is simply fascinating. The vast range of Sony music also makes it the dream phone to have for every audiophile. My recommendation for you would be to immediately get out of your house, hit the nearest Sony franchise and get your hands on this wonderful phone!
